PS2 slim Red Green Red issue

When I connect Power cord, the power light is red so I push and release power button as normal, The light goes green for about one second but it goes red again.
No fan running no nothing
Weird I can barely hear a sound of click from motherboard every time I push the power button! And No it definitely is not from the power button. The click sound is from motherboard.
All fuses were checked and all are ok ( on the motherboard using multimeter) including “PS0017”.
The external PSU is ok as...

Greetings, I am new to PSX place but not so new to the modding scene. I have recently run into a problem with Smackdown vs Raw 2007 and would appreciate any help or info you guys might have on this. Here is a rundown of my current scenario:

using Free MCBoot 1.953 on a PS2 slim 75001. I have ran SvR07 through ETH, and I have tried burning the iso to DVD and used ESR and the same bug occurs on both for some strange reason. SvR 06, 08, and 09 work perfectly fine as far as I have tested, but...

I've got my PS2 with FMCB and OPL working. I'm wondering what to do to get PS1 games working too? I've been reading a lot of tutorials and info on this site, but I haven't seem to come across instructions for that yet. Can anyone point me to some documentation?

Hello guys,
I need help to fix my PS2 slim model 70000. After many years of not usage "I took it for a ride". Unfortunately the dvd motor doesn't spin anymore. I see the lens going up down (to focus?) and I spot the laser through the disk surface attempting to read the data. I made an eye check to the motherboard searching for defective components but I have not found anything. Cleaned it with Isopropyl Alcohol
Then I bought the repair parts, a lens and a motor. Unfortunately the issue is...

Hello guys, I recently installed FMCB on my pal scph 90004 using FreeDVDBoot so i can play backups because the ps2 games market (at least in my country) is basically dead.
So I installed FreeMcBoot Noobie Package 1.8v. I patched (with ESR disc patcher) and burnt a couple of games at 6x speed (lowest possible) on HP DVD-Rs (4.7GB 16x). At first all of the games worked without a problem and i played them (without any errors and such). But here comes the strange part - 2 days later i burnt Tony...

Convert .bin to .iso OPL No save file error

I have seen many suggestions around this. From the command line I have tried to use chunk, but have no .cue files for any of my .bins. I have tried OPL Manager as alternative is it seems like it allows you to convert .bin files to .iso without the need for a .cue file. However, this is not working as I get a No save selected error. Why am I getting this error?

I would prefer to do this conversion over the command line to complete the conversions in bulk if I can get OPL working that will...

My PS2 Slim is doing a lot of noise (I don't know and I'm afraid of opening it to clean it and/or replace the thermal pads) and after changing the original composite cables for component ones the TV screen flickers (it goes back and returns to normal) for some seconds (it does this a lot of times). I no longer have the original composite cables.

Ok, I'm about to start copying games to an internal HDD on a PS2 Phat. This going to take a LONG time, and I want to make sure that I'm using the best process to do this. I also have a few questions that have popped up since I've done my initial testing with a few games. My console is soft modded with FMCB and my version of OPL is 0.9.3. The 2tb drive I am using has been formatted using uLaunch on the PS2, and I've copied a few games over to it that are tested and working.

PS2 (SCPH-50000) (PAL) discs not spinning

I need some help with my PS2. The discs aren't spinning (both CDs and DVDs). I've replaced the laser (I have removed the solder blob) and the spindle but that hasn't done anything. I've also been trying to fidget with the pots but no luck yet. Everything seems to be fine, the laser can move up and down and turns on for a second but nothing after that.

Can someone tell me the difference between the in-game 50 Hz/60 Hz modes and the in-game progressive scan? My TV, PS2 and games are PAL so regarding those games which offer these settings, should I choose 50 Hz or 60 Hz and should I use progressive scan? Does the 60 Hz offer better picture quality but less fluidity than 50 Hz and progressive scan (maybe the latter two are the same?)? Maybe progressive scan offers worse picture quality but better fluidity than 60 Hz mode (and maybe the...

I'm new to this homebrew thing but I can't make the FMVs on this game to work correctly. The first level's FMV and the second level's first two FMVs (I haven't progresses further in the game) have no audio and have a "buzz" sound on both NTSC and PAL versions. Is it because this game doesn't show up on both OPL compatibility lists? There are a lot of games played via SMB that I want to play that don't show up there. Looking for a tool to copy from PS2 to PS2 HDD

Hey,

I'm looking forward to upgrade my internal PS2 Fat HDD from a 320GB to a 1TB or 500GB don't know yet BUT I'm looking for a tool to copy the installed games directly to the new drive. I own around 50 PS2 games and don't want to copy them all over again from my physical collection. ( I got my whole collection as iso's on my pc as well if this helps)

So is there a tool to copy from internal ps2 to a nother ps2 formatted drive? HAS TO BE COMPATIBLE WITH OPL!

I didn't do a backup before installing the XMB english patch and ran into freezing when opening settings submenus.

I'm hoping I can just start fresh, as far as that directory is concerned.

Might be a long shot, but if somebody could load up FMCB on their 7000 and upload a copy of their hdd0:/__system/xosd/packages/ folder I'd be eternally grateful.

My friend kindly gave me a 5000 series phat PS2 which seems to have a Matrix infinity chipped installed. The only other PS2 I own is a slim version that I have modded and I’m pretty sure it’s a modbo 5.0 chip.

I really haven’t had time to pour over the various tutorial yet, but I’m really wanting some help with the chip.

So with the slim I’m used to the matrix logo appearing while booting and then the PS2 booting as normal to the browser and settings menu if no games are in the drive....

Today i just got a psx desr 5100s for 10$ plus shipping, but with no hard drive andi know that the hard drive is encrypted to each machine and i'm trying to making it work again by give it a new hard drive, get a backup hdd partition from working psx but the questions is:

1. Is the hardrive married to one console only or not?

2. Can i use another psx backup partition even it's from a different models and different storage space?And if i can, where do i get it?

2. Or if i can't get access...

Black screen and "no signal" message when playing PS1 games on POPStarter

I can't play any PS1 game on my FHD TV. It says "no signal". I think it's because I'm using the PS2 to HDMI Converter adaptor but I no longer have composite/component cables.

EDIT: I added the "$HDTVFIX" entry to the CHEATS.txt file on the POPS folder and I still have the "no signal" message when playing new games but after restarting the PS2 all's fine. It looks like I'll have to do this every time I play a new game. Weird.

I just read about "direct mode off" and am trying to make heads or tails out of the thing.

What I want to know is if FreeDVDBoot ESR Patcher Gui by Jabu has a direct mode off on the ESR that was packed with the frontend.
