Sega Ages 2500 Games Won't Work With HDL Dumb?

I'm having a bit of an odd problem with HDL Dumb. I've started transferring my PS2 ISOs to my hard drive and so far everything has worked. Some games that I've patched from Japanese to English have displayed odd values in the STARTUP field (such as the last three or four letters of the file name), but when I try them on a real PS2 they work just fine (although if I try to open the iso again with HDL Dumb like I want to install it, HDL Dumb crashes for some reason).
